3C Metal’s in-house Electrical Department has developed a comprehensive electrical, instrumentation, telemetry and control solution for a Single Point Mooring (SPM) buoy located offshore Argentina. The project focuses on enabling real-time visibility between the buoy, loading vessel and onshore terminal control room to support safer and more efficient offshore operations.

The scope involved developing the system architecture and engineering the integration of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and telemetry systems, operator interfaces, hawser tension and pipeline pressure monitoring, emergency valve controls, fire and gas monitoring, oil spill detection, marine navigation aids, renewable-powered offshore electrical systems and long-range communications.

The systems are housed in a dedicated container designed and fabricated by 3C Metal in accordance with ABS standards for permanent installation on the buoy.

3C Metal’s Electrical Department also brings the capability to integrate advanced control systems with buoy hydraulic systems, enabling remote monitoring of valve status and operation of critical product-transfer shutdown valves through SCADA and telemetry networks.

The team has successfully managed the project from concept design through fabrication support and factory acceptance testing (FAT). The project is currently progressing toward commissioning and offshore integration, which are yet to be completed.

Upon completion, the integrated solution is expected to enhance safety, operational visibility, environmental monitoring and asset integrity management in the offshore environment.

Through this project, 3C Metal demonstrates its in-house capability to deliver comprehensive electrical, instrumentation and control solutions for complex offshore applications, combining system architecture, engineering design and integration expertise to support critical offshore operations.
